Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how ToolBase ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use Quick Sum Calculator (also shown as "QuickSum") at https://quicksumcalculator.com (the "Service"). Quick Sum Calculator is an online tool that adds up lists of numbers and shows count, average, median, minimum, and maximum. Pro features can also extract numbers from text or images you submit.

1. Information We Collect

a. Basic calculator (no account needed)

The numbers you type into the basic calculator are processed in your browser and are not sent to our servers. Your recent calculations ("History") are saved only in your browser's local storage on your device. Clearing your browser data removes them.

b. Google account information (Google Sign-In)

You can use the basic calculator without an account. To use Pro features or buy a subscription, you must sign in. Google Sign-In is our only login method. We request only the basic profile scopes (openid, email, profile) and receive:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your profile picture URL
  • A unique Google account identifier

We do not request access to your Gmail, Google Drive, Contacts, Calendar, or any other Google data.

c. Content you submit to Pro features

When you use Pro features to extract numbers from text or images, the content you submit is processed by our servers, with the help of a third-party processing service, solely to return your results. We keep a usage record (your account ID, the feature used, usage counts, timestamps, and a short excerpt of the input and output) for billing, preventing abuse, and fixing problems. Uploaded images are processed in memory and are not stored.

d. Payment information

Pro subscriptions are handled by a third-party payment processor. Your card number and other payment credentials are collected and stored by the payment processor, not by us. We receive your subscription status, plan, transaction identifiers, and the email address used for the purchase.

e. Information collected automatically

We automatically collect basic usage and device data (pages visited, features used, browser and device type, language, approximate location from IP address) and standard server logs (IP address, request time, errors) through cookies and similar technologies. See Section 5.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide the Service: run calculations, extract numbers from content you submit, and show your results.
  • To manage your account: your Google name, email, and profile picture identify you, display your avatar, and keep you signed in.
  • To manage subscriptions and usage: link your Pro subscription to your account, track usage against your plan's limits, and turn off ads for Pro users.
  • To communicate with you: respond to support requests and send important service notices.
  • To improve and secure the Service: understand how features are used, fix bugs, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service.
  • To show advertising: display ads to users who are not on the Pro plan.

We do not sell your personal information, and we use the content you submit only to return your results.

3. Google User Data and Limited Use

Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We only use Google user data to sign you in and provide user-facing features of the Service. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or transfer it to third parties except as needed to operate the Service, to comply with law, or as part of a merger or acquisition with notice to you. No humans read your Google user data unless required for security, legal compliance, or with your consent.

4. Data Storage, Security, and Retention

Account data, subscription records, and usage records are stored in a secure database hosted by our cloud provider. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest, and access is limited to authorized personnel. No method of storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

  • Account data and usage records are kept for as long as your account exists and are deleted when your account is deleted.
  • Purchase and subscription records are kept as long as required for accounting, tax, and legal purposes.
  • Server logs are kept for a limited period, generally no more than 90 days.
  • Uploaded images are not stored. Basic calculator inputs never leave your browser.

5. Cookies and Analytics

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and remember your language and theme, third-party analytics cookies to understand how the Service is used, and third-party advertising cookies (such as Google AdSense) to serve and measure ads for non-Pro users. You can control cookies in your browser settings and manage ad personalization at Google Ads Settings. Disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent you from signing in.

6. Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the Service (sign-in, hosting, payment processing, content processing, analytics, and advertising), only as needed for those purposes, and when required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ToolBase, our users, or the public. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, we will notify you.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, or to delete your account and associated data, email us at support@quicksumcalculator.com from the email address linked to your account. We will respond within 30 days.

You can revoke Quick Sum Calculator's access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account permissions page. You can clear your local calculation history from the History panel or by clearing your browser data.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates are posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date, and we will notify registered users of material changes by email.
